Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Ivy.

How does Ivy protect my privacy?+
Ivy provides comprehensive privacy protection through masked emails, phone numbers, and payment cards. Your real information stays hidden from websites and services, preventing tracking, spam, and data breaches. All your data is encrypted and secured using bank-grade security protocols.
What is a masked email and how does it work?+
A masked email is a unique, disposable email address that forwards messages to your real inbox. When you sign up for a service with a masked email, the service never sees your real email address. You can disable or delete masked emails at any time to stop receiving messages, effectively blocking spam and unwanted communications.
Can I use Ivy on multiple devices?+
Ivy is a Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium browser extension today. iOS and Android apps are coming soon. It does not run on Firefox. Masked emails, phones, and cards stay with your Ivy account once you sign in.
Is my data safe with Ivy?+
We use bank-grade encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest, and a zero-knowledge architecture so we can't read your vault. Our infrastructure is regularly audited for security and compliance.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?+
If you cancel Ivy Pro from your account, you'll keep Pro until the end of your current billing period. You can reactivate Pro from your account before that period ends. After it ends, your account stays on Ivy Free and the previous subscription cannot be reactivated — start a new Pro subscription through checkout. Self-serve cancel does not issue a refund. New Ivy Pro subscriptions include a 14-day money-back guarantee issued by support — email ivy-support@ironvest.com within 14 days of purchase to request it. Encrypted vault data remains stored on Ivy servers, and signed-in Free users keep their account and cross-device sync.
How do masked payments work?+
Masked payments create virtual card numbers linked to your real payment method. You load funds onto each card — that balance is the spending limit. If a merchant is compromised, only the virtual card number is exposed, not your real card details. You can freeze or close a virtual card instantly.
Does Ivy work with all websites?+
Ivy works with the vast majority of websites and services. Our browser extension automatically detects signup forms and offers to create masked identities. In rare cases where automatic detection doesn't work, you can manually copy and paste masked emails or phone numbers. We're constantly improving compatibility with more websites.
Can I customize my masked identities?+
Yes! You can customize masked email addresses with memorable names, add notes and labels to organize them, and set up custom forwarding rules. For masked phone numbers, you can choose area codes and manage call/text forwarding preferences. This helps you keep track of where you've used each masked identity.
What is phishing protection and how does it help?+
Ivy's phishing protection actively monitors websites you visit and warns you about known phishing sites, suspicious links, and potential scams. It checks URLs against a constantly updated database of threats and uses AI to identify new phishing attempts. This extra layer of protection helps prevent you from entering your credentials on fake websites.
How do I get started with Ivy?+
Getting started is easy! Install the Ivy browser extension from the Chrome Web Store. iOS and Android apps are coming soon. Create your account, and you'll be guided through setting up your first masked email. The extension will automatically suggest creating masked identities when you sign up for new services. It takes just a few minutes to start protecting your privacy.
